Worms

Well thank god we finally got some rain. I was paying nearly 3 bucks a dozen for worms and half the time they were frozen. It's always funny to buy them at the Avondales (corner store) though. Especially when they stop half way through making another costumer a sub to reach in the same fridge where the lettuce etc are kept and pull out a container of worms Tonight I picked about 5 dozen which will go right back into the containers I've purchased. The store bought worms were packed in Styrofoam containers. As you know these aren't biodegradable. I've contacted a major worm farmer in Wainfleet and asked if they would consider switching to a more biodegradable container such as compressed Peat. Their answer was no! That adds 20 cents per unit that people aren't willing to pay for. I wish I could get paid 20 cents a piece to pick up these Styrofoam containers every time I do a clean up. Slob fishermen would have me on the freedom 55 plan for sure. If your in the South end of Niagara and use those square Styrofoam containers, drop off the empties at Dominion bait on Dominion Rd in Fort Erie. There they are recycled for those dry days when there are no worms for you to pick yourself. ;D
