I put before you this question. What is the answer to global warming or climate change? The question itself raises other questions such as, is climate change caused by human activities or is it part of something much bigger such as a universal cycle or a change in our sun? The question I am asking is based on the notion that human activity is to blame, for that would be the only cause that can be resolved at our level. Although some believe that what we are dealing with today is the effect of what we altered decades ago, I have to assume it is not too late in order to discuss possible solutions to todays problem. So far the best we have gotten is energy saving light bulbs! We have commuter lanes built for 2 or more passengers and energy star rated appliances. These solutions can hardly claim to dent the situation at hand. So what are your suggestions? Ideal, politically correct or implementable aside I realize real solutions would mean economical hardship and political suicide. Here are a few of my own outside of the box ideas: 1: Solar street lights. 2: New bike ways instead of highways. 3: A reduction in population through taxes and fines, a mirror image of todays system. 4: Roundabouts and catwalks. So what are some of your suggestions no matter how extreme they may be? Who knows, perhaps a time will come when we are forced to accepting your very ideas.

1) I'd like to see the idea of Solar power expanded into all commercial high rise buildings, shopping malls plazas etc where lights are left on constantly. 2) Wind power expansion to all areas considered viable for such harvest. 3) The elimination of all 8 cylinder and higher vehicles in the immediate future. 4) A fundamental shift towards fuel cell technology in the next 5 years 5) A mandatory global position and implemented action on greenhouse gas emissions. 6) A global strategy for replenishing/replanting of lost forest land. 7) Household caps placed on power usage per family unit based on numbers of persons in each dwelling. 8) A study on the effectiveness of having homes built partially underground(not just basements) to see if there are substantial reductions in hydro usage with respect to both heating and air conditioning.
